Well, here it is, a brand new year and I am FINALLY updating the Lets Talk portion of the site. I know, I have been very negligent in keeping everyone informed and updated with our doings, so here we go...
First off, many many "thank yous" for the greetings (and in some cases condolences) on my reaching that milestone 60. The guest book was filled, and for those that sent separate e-mails, snail mail and phone calls, again thanks. I was trying to let this one slip by but my daughter saw it differently.
We made it through the hurricanes down here with limited damages-some foliage-one large palm tree, a little pool cage damage-just the small stuff-neighbors 2 doors away lost part of their roof so we feel blessed. And if that's the extent of things, I'll take it.
We've had an assorted number of visitors from back home and its been great having them-some deciding to stay with us and others just calling up and stopping by for a visit. We missed Warren Rathke while he was down here assisting hurricane victims-we were gone when he stopped at the house-maybe next time, Warren. Even Big Wheelie and Candi made an appearance down here for a few days.
I've been working part time at Healthpark hospital as a Security Officer-I work seven days, then I'm off seven days-and its straight days and we're all retired law enforcement (police, sheriff, CIA, FBI) so its a great bunch of guys, lots of fun and a beautiful facility.
Looking forward to Lockport Day on March 1st this year at the Shell Factory on Rt. 41 in North Fort Myers, and have been helping the planning committee this year. Thanks to donations from the Navy Marine and Elks Clubs in Lockport. it should be another great time of food, fun, reunions and prizes galore. If you are down this way, make it a point to be there. And if not, Tom Jolls (he arrived down here last Wednesday) and I are looking forward to once again broadcasting the festivities over 1340-WLVL.
My New Years Resolution is going to be to write and update much more often-if I can keep myself out of the pool and sitting here at the computer long enough!
Have a happy, healthy and safe 2005..and until the next time...
